Giro Giro Tondo

2017

Triennale di Milano

The tenth edition of the Triennale Design Museum came to be: from a desire to investigate the link between design and childhood, between design culture and educational culture, where that link is strongest and closest. To be specific, where design has placed itself at the service of teachers and where educators have asked designers and architects to design objects and spaces (or to devise processes) useful to their teaching practices. This means that the true central figure in this new edition of the Triennale Design Museum is the child: both as a person and as a point of view on the world and on things. Girotondo is a tribute to designer Stefano Giovannoni and to his 1989 project with Guido Venturini. The exhibition design and the Art Direction are by Stefano Giovannoni, whose work has always had a noticeable streak of playfulness and a distinctly pop flavour, an attitude toward design that enabled him to better interpret the world of childhood.
